My wife and I were in the area and wanted to try something new. The staff is very friendly and ready to offer recommendations. We tried the samosas for an appetizer. This was a first for me but definitely not the last. It had a flaky crust on the outside and soft and spicy on the inside. It also came with a dipping sauce. I ordered the chicken tikka masala. The chicken was tender and the sauce was creamy and very flavorful and the portions are generous. My wife ordered biryani. It was also delicious and generously portioned. We also had garlic naan and ordered more to go to enjoy with leftovers.

One side of the menu offers Indian dishes and the other side Chinese dishes! I Love the food here. Their Gobi Manchuria is an all time favorite. It's on their appetizer menu - you have to try it. The chicken 65 from appetizer menu is also very good. This is the same owner from Curry N Grill that I missed so much. I'm glad to have them back! They also own the market next door.

My family and I came here for dinner, looking for some halal Chinese. We walked in and the dining hall was empty, so we were a little taken aback! But a really friendly waitress popped out of the back and took our order. We ordered lemon chicken and hot pepper chicken for appetizers, and orange beef, beef fried rice, and house special Hakka noodles. Everything was hot and extremely fresh, especially the appetizers and the beef items. The spot was really unassuming, with some simple decorations and booths. We weren't sure how it was going to be, but we came to know the chef was an older Chinese gentleman with lots of experience, which explained the amazing tasting food. We will definitely be back here to try more of the Chinese food, and some of the Indian options as well. Really glad to find a fresh, tasty, HALAL spot in Columbus, they are few and far between!

I have been looking for an actual Indian buffet since 2020, finally found one. It was around $15 but I believe I got my moneys worth. It has your typical Indian dishes, naan, fried veggies and potatoes. All the various chicken dishes, but with the addition of orange chicken, sesame chicken, and teriyaki chicken. With both white rice, and biryani rice. The dessert isn't as varied, but they did have Gulab Jamun. Would definitely go again.

One restaurant, two cuisines! So, there's a new Indo - Chinese restaurant that just opened called India Bistro & China House. I checked them out for lunch this afternoon around noon and the buffet had about 16 or so items, mostly Indian with a few American Chinese dishes. Lunch is $16.99 from 11am to 2pm and dinner is 18.99 from 5pm to 9:30. The meat is halal, btw. Let me tell you about the things I tried. * Naan: Was nice and warm with just the right amount of chew. * Chicken: Pretty good version with tender chicken and a hearty sauce. * Vegetarian Fried Rice: Pretty decent basic version made with shredded cabbage. * Vegetable Pokora: Delicious! and with just the right amount of crispiness and spice. * Tandoori Chicken: Big chunks of breast meat. Great flavor too. * General Tso's Chicken: Pretty good with a pronounced honey sweetness. * Vegetable Lo Mein: The only thing I had that I didn't like. Soggy and flavorless. All in all, this was a good first visit. There were a couple little snags that I'm not going to bother mentioning because, like I said, this is a soft opening so they'll work out the kinks in time. Recommended and looking forward to trying them again in another month or two! 4 Stars And I've Got A Few Thoughts For The Owners: My recommendation to the owners is to reconsider the price. While your food is very good, $16.99 for lunch seems a little high for the selection that's available. $12.99 or $13.99 might be a better price point. Get your clientele built up first and then consider raising the price. Also, a soup of the day option would be nice. Thupka, Hot and Sour, Egg Drop, Wonton... Best of luck to you folks!

India Bistro & China House

India Bistro & China House on 2540 Bethel Rd in Columbus, OH brings together flavorful Indian curries and bold Chinese stir-fries in one vibrant, welcoming spot that’s loved by both locals and out-of-town foodies.

India Bistro & China House is your go-to destination for fusion Asian cuisine in Columbus

Tucked away on Bethel Road, India Bistro & China House has become a neighborhood staple for anyone craving authentic flavors without having to choose between Indian and Chinese fare. This dual-concept diner gives diners the best of both worlds, with a diverse menu featuring buttery chicken tikka masala alongside sizzling Mongolian beef. It's a spot that speaks to those late-night cravings, weekday lunch runs, and special dinners when you want more than just a predictable takeout.

One of the first things you’ll notice when walking in is the aroma—spices like cardamom, cumin, garlic, and ginger linger in the air, promising a meal that’s far from ordinary. Locals often recommend the General Tso's Chicken and Paneer Butter Masala, both of which come generously portioned and loaded with flavor. Each dish is crafted to reflect the traditions of its roots while adapting to the bold expectations of today’s food lovers.

Indian classics and Chinese comfort dishes come together seamlessly on the menu

The India Bistro & China House menu reflects a deep respect for culinary traditions, blending two powerhouse cuisines under one roof. If you’re in the mood for heat, go for the Chicken Vindaloo or Spicy Szechuan Noodles—both pack a punch that chili lovers will appreciate. Prefer something rich and savory? The Lamb Rogan Josh and Beef with Broccoli deliver exactly that, layered with aromatic herbs and sauces that coat every bite.

Vegetarians have plenty to cheer about too. From Vegetable Korma to Kung Pao Tofu, the variety ensures no one feels left out. Each dish is made to order, which means spice levels can be adjusted based on your taste—and the staff are always happy to make recommendations if you’re stuck between two great options.

Having tried both sides of the menu, I can confidently say the garlic naan pairs just as well with sweet and sour chicken as it does with dal makhani. And that kind of harmony is exactly what makes this place so easy to come back to.

Family-friendly dining, takeout convenience, and repeat-worthy experiences

Whether you're dining in with the family or grabbing a quick takeout order on the way home, India Bistro & China House delivers consistency and care. The location itself is cozy and unpretentious, with warm lighting and straightforward decor that lets the food take center stage. It’s not trying to be trendy—it’s focused on being reliable, generous, and flavorful.

On busy evenings, expect a bit of a wait during peak dinner hours—but it’s worth it. The kitchen handles orders efficiently, and they rarely miss a beat even on bustling weekends. For regulars, it's a comfort to know their favorite dishes taste the same every time. That level of trust doesn’t come easily in the restaurant world.

They’ve also done a great job catering to the growing demand for vegetarian, halal, and gluten-free options. The staff are informed and responsive, a detail that makes a big difference for diners with dietary needs. Whether you’re ordering on DoorDash or picking up curbside, the food arrives hot, intact, and just as you’d expect.

Locals rave about the generous portions, fair prices, and welcoming service

What makes people keep coming back isn’t just the food—it’s the vibe. You’ll often hear regulars chatting with servers like old friends, asking for “the usual” or catching up on new dishes. That’s the kind of connection that transforms a typical restaurant into a local favorite.

Reviews frequently mention how friendly and accommodating the team is, especially when it comes to making substitutions or recommending dishes based on preferences. It’s not uncommon to find college students grabbing lunch next to multi-generational families celebrating birthdays. That diversity in clientele says a lot about the restaurant’s wide appeal.

And let’s talk value—portions here are no joke. You could easily split an entrée between two people and still walk away satisfied. Yet, prices remain reasonable, making it a solid pick whether you’re treating yourself or dining out with a group.

Ultimately, if you’re near Columbus, OH and looking for a meal that blends richness, spice, and heart, India Bistro & China House on 2540 Bethel Rd is where you’ll want to head. It’s not just about the food—it’s about flavor, familiarity, and feeling right at home no matter what dish you order.
